Birds as a Rwanda Safari attraction in Akagera National Park
Akagera National Park is an Important Bird Area and is endowed with 500 bird species including the papyrus gonolek and the Shoe bill stork. The Park supports 44 raptor species, the Palearctic migrants like the Gallinago media, Glareola nordmanni and Falco naumanni. The Akagera National Park forms the northern limit of the Zambezian biome species such as the Lanius souzae, Myrmecocichla arnotti and Cisticola angusticauda. Akagera National Park also shelters one Guinea – Congo Forest biome Species along with seven (7) Afro-tropical Highlands biome Species.
